What I find most interesting about this article are the comments underneath. While I understand why thoughtless people are such curmudgeons, it irritates me to no end how much they are in the majority and control society.

I guess without them there would be no need for Banksy to point out their idiocy lack of appreciation for thought-provoking art. This is as close to modern high art as it gets.

I love that little nutjob. I would vote for him because of his hot wife and his sincerity, much as I’m voting for Obama because he’s younger than McCain. He will never be president (too unique of a person) but hopefully Obama puts him in some good commitees.

I got sick of having a cluttered desktop and inconsistent beauty between all of the applications I use. I tweaked TextMate and Terminal, found an awesome background, and finally organized everything on my desktop. Feels so refreshing.

Things left to do:

- Convert back to Adium and probably do my own skin of it (never found a good one for it and thats why I switched back to iChat)

- Find/make an awesome skin for Firefox

- Keep tweaking Flexbuilder and Eclipse, TextMate now puts both those themes to shame, though the variety makes it easy to spot which is which in Exposé

- Skin Colloquy, very intolerant of anything I’ve found for it so far, though the LovableType (http://blog.plasticmind.com/downloads/theme-colloquy-irc/) theme makes a good base. The main problem here is that Colloquy doesn’t always override the theme settings so you have to dig into CSS.

- And, of course, skin my Tumblr

Other than that I’m fairly happy with where I’m at now.

The thing I was not aware of was that Coke has becoming a generic name for all fizzy drinks in a lot of the south-east USA. Interesting.

I’ve always been deeply enthralled by people who say “pop” instead of “soda.”

I laughed so hard when I heard one of my dad’s employees say he was going to go get A POP when I was in Michigan. I completely forgot about learning to call it a soda once I moved to California.

My friend who lived in Boston for awhile told me people there call it tonic. So nutso.

Only older people still call it tonic. Soda has been the norm here for younger generations for a while now. I distinctly remember learning to call it soda when I moved here at 11 from Minnesota. The hardest actually was going from a hard ‘A’ to a soft ‘A’ on a lot of words.

Bag, Dagger, Flag, etc.

I have now seen why religion and the Internet were invented. Comedic heaven on earth.

I disagree. Or, rather, I think serious political discourse can be a much bigger tent than many people assume it is. The evangelical megachurch vote is a rapidly growing demographic with a host of political concerns. It’s a rapidly growing group. And it’s likely to split about evenly between McCain and Obama.
