How do i keep my gums and teeth healthy?
I am away at college and I’m not able to see a dentist like i’m supposed to. Is there any advice on what products to use, or any techniques to keep up with to maintain a healthy mouth?
The best way to keep our teeth clean? Brush and floss.
I work in a dental office which, ironically, doesn’t provide dental insurance. I take care of my own teeth. I got a Sonic Care, they have a cheaper model now for under $40. The vibrations are KEY to keeping the plaque from building up. It really works, even makes my teeth whiter.
Watch your diet and make sure you aren’t guzzling soda, then hitting the hay. Best foods for your teeth are actually crunchy foods since they keep your teeth in top shape. No popcorn! They chip fillings and get lodged into the craziest places!
Smoking is bad, of course, but it’s awful for your teeth. I can tell by the look of a person’s teeth if they smoke. Plaque builds up terrible behind the front teeth. A guy whose been smoking for years…. oh my God! It’s like a battle. It’s so nasty!
I clean my teeth in 3 steps:
1. Brush with Colgate Total
2. Floss
3. Mouth wash with Scope
I do this every morning and at night. Sometimes when I have time, I would do it once in the afternoon too. I haven’t been to the dentist in years because my insurance no longer covers dental care, but my teeth are still pearly white and free of cavities! Remember to brush those hard to reach spots in the back too!

regular brushing and flossing..
flossing is the key to keeping the the space in between nice and clean.
of course the rinsing too..
brush with a soft bristle tip and move in circular motions..
don’t brush so hard cause that’ll just remove the enamel and expose your roots..

Why wont you be able to see a dentist like you are supposed to? If you go to college your parents insurance still has to cover you. Not only that but all Universities that I know of have a medical facility somewhere nearby.
Brush twice a day in the morning and at night. Do not eat anything at night after you have brushed. Make sure you floss AT LEAST once a day. Using mouthwash can also help.
