The posterior teeth of the human dentition are designed to crush food with 4 times more force than the anterior teeth. What is the approximate distance from the posterior teeth to the anterior teeth if the molar teeth are 4cm away from the fulcrum-temporomandibular joint.

Should you not brush the flossing area of the teeth?

Should you only brush the front and back sides of the front teeth.

I mean if you have gaps between your front teeth can brushing the gaps put un needed pressure on the teeth by torqing it?

Like the floss should be about to clean the edge of the teeth fully?

How big of gap do you have that you can fit a toothbrush in there? And how hard are you brushing that you’re afraid of knocking you teeth out?

At any rate, you still need to floss to get up under the gums. And if you can reach those areas with your toothbrush as well then all the better.

How do you floss teeth when you have braces and very not much room inbetween teeth? Any tips on Damon Braces?

Please don’t use a toothpick! You will break your braces and get wood splinters — very dangerous with braces. It is difficult to thread floss under the wire without the blue floss threaders. There is a floss called Superfloss that is all one piece. It has the threader at one end so you just have to pull the floss through to use it. It is much easier than the threaders if you can find it.

You could also use an electric flosser called the Hummingbird by Oral B.

How do I keep my teeth clean?

I go to the dentist about once or twice a year, to get my teeth cleaned Im only thirteen and my teeth have tatar on them even though i floss and brush regularly. Any suggestions on what to do to further clean them and keep them clean?

There must be area’s that you are missing with your brush, the first stage of tarter, is called plaque, which is soft and easily removed with your toothbrush, if the plaque is left for more than 24 hours, it hardens into tarter. I suggest using an electric toothbrush and be sure to brush right up to your gums.

What is the purpose for silver caps on children’s teeth?

I wasn’t able to accompany my 5 yr old son to the dentist so I’m a little confused on why he has to have silver caps put on his teeth next week….does anyone know the reason for these??

At age 5 your child must have a real high decay rate. Stainless steel crowns are used when there would not be enough tooth structure left after removing all of the decay to hold a silver filling. They are very durable and will not re decay like big silver fillings may. They will be placed on the baby teeth that are supposed to last until age 11 or 12.

Besides humans what could my child test teeth whitening strips on for her science fair project?

We are using the strips and tooth paste.

I just hate the "yuck mouth" taste when I wake up, but I hate to eat with freshly brushed teeth as well. All of my food ends up tasting like toothpaste. And we all know how oj tastes after brushing- ewww. Any solutions?

I worked part-time in an oral surgeons office years ago. One of the doctors there used to recommend to the patients that you brush before breakfast with just plain water, just to freshen the mouth.

After you eat, you brush with toothpaste, and floss of course. This does work well, it takes away most of the "morning mouth," without leaving the weird mix of flavors that occurs with the toothpaste aftertaste. Hope this helps. Have a good day.

any Ideas on potty Training a two year old?

My wife and I have a two year old boy that can do everything else as in Ride a two wheeler with Training wheels, Run a microwave, Count to 10, Get dressed and undressed. Brush his Teath, but when it comes to potty Training is is hard to do. he will tell you when he has gone to the bathroom but only once in a while will he accually use it. any Ideas? only serious and Respectful answers please

welll…a lot of people say to let him run around naked and that it helps because he won’t want to pee everywhere…but i think that is just wierd…what we do is give the child a fruit snack or jelly bean evertime he actually pees on the toilet. You can try to start a reward chart if he is old enough to understand…each time he goes on the potty he gets a sticker and if he gets 10 stickers he gets a special prize…well good luck! he’ll catch on eventually!
